I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and set the goal for this space. I'm Amanda and I'm fortunate to have many roles in my life including wife, mother, daughter, friend and therapist. Each of these roles hold such value to me. I love being in nature or cooking for my family. Tulips are my favorite flower and I recently started container gardening so I'm hopeful to have some fresh food growing on my porch soon!
When it comes to my work, I strive to offer a safe space for you to come with your questions, fears, and uncertainties, and I'll walk alongside you as we work together to better understand what's happened in your life and how to live a more grace filled life. I believe in change and healing. I am a realist, balancing the realities of life's complex situations and hold hope for the future. I'm not the type of therapist to tell you what to do nor am I an eternal optimist. I know that you have the most knowledge of who you are and what you've experienced in life. I'll use my skills to help you unpack what's keeping you stuck in life and help you make progress you desire in life.
Now that you know a bit about me personally and my therapeutic approach, I want to outline my goals for writing this blog. In my experience there is information I tend to share repeatedly with clients; over time I hope this space will become a library of my top educational insights, coping skills, current research, and occasionally some reflections. It will be my goal to try to have most posts be less than 10 minutes to read. Offering short posts to help guide you to being more intentionally focused on things that help you live in your current season of life and live in alignment with your authentic self.
I hope this is a space where you can learn something, be reminded of things that have helped at other times in your life and encourages you to dig a little deeper in your work with me.
Warmly,
Amanda
